Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps Delight!

The Basics: Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps might well be the best blend of chocolate and salty snacks I've tried in a long time!


My wife picks me up all sorts of snack for review and enjoyment, but we sometimes end up in conflict because she wants me to enjoy things she picks up more (instead of saving them for review). The truth is, I want to keep my wife happy by being flexible in that way, but I try not to risk enjoyable experiences (like new movies or new episode viewings) with products I am unsure I would like. So, tonight, before I sat down to watch the reboot of Twin Peaks, I decided it was time to crack open the bag of Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps she bought for me.

Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps were the perfect snack for me to enjoy with a new show because they truly are wonderful (and I left enough from the bag so I could enjoy them with my new episode). The Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps are a decent sweet and salty snack that has great flavor and that makes them well worth trying!

Basics

Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps, for those who are not familiar with them, are like chocolate-covered slightly-flattened pretzels. Snack Factory is based out of Havover, Pennsylvania and has a pretty extensive pretzel "cracker" line. These are almost unrecognizable as a salty snack because the pretzels are buried beneath a layer of chocolate and and embedded candy pieces.

Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps come in various sizes, but always in a bag. The standard size bag that I have found is 4 oz. The Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps are pretzel shaped and 2 1/2" long, 1 3/8" wide and 3/8" thick. Many of them are slightly"warped." These are, as well, one of the more affordable snacks of their type on the market.

Ease Of Preparation

Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps are simple to enjoy; all you need do it open the bag and remove the pretzels (though they are called "crackers" on the bag) from it! There is no trick to eating Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps; they are a snack that is ready to go from the bag to the mouth.

Taste

Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps smell marginally minty, but quite strongly of dark chocolate. The aroma is very inviting and distinct for anyone who loves dark chocolate.

On the taste front, the Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps are chocolatey and minty in a way that characterizes well a dark chocolate mint flavor. The chocolate is just sweet enough that the interior pretzel being salty accents the mint flavor. This is a delightful combination of sweet and salty in a single snack and in every bite. It is rare to find a snack like this where the chocolate is truly flavorful, but the Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps absolutely lives up; there is not a hint of waxiness to the chocolate and the balance between dark chocolate and mint flavors is perfect!

The aftertaste of the Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps is sweet and minty and it endures in the mouth for about five minutes after the last pretzel crisp is consumed.

Nutrition

Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps are a fairly good snack, with no unrecognizable ingredients. Given that the ingredients are mostly real dark chocolate, enriched wheat flour, and sugar, it might surprise snack eaters to learn how generally good these treats are. These have a shelf life of approximately one year, so it's not a bad snack to stock up on.

Each four "cracker"/pretzel crisp serving (which is a bit small of a serving size for my tastes) of Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps has 120 calories, fifty of which come from fat. There is a gram of dietary fiber and 20 grams of carbohydrates in each serving. While there are 6 grams of fat and 1 gram of protein, there are only 95 mg of sodium, which represents 4% of one's RDA of sodium. There is a smattering of Iron in the Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps, but nothing significant. There is a dietary note that the Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps includes milk, wheat, and soy ingredients, which prevents them from being Vegan compliant or Gluten-free. They are also not marked as Kosher, but do have a notation that they may contain genetically engineered ingredients.

Storage/Clean-up

Kept in their bag, Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps will remain fresh for about a year. The bag my wife purchased for us had an expiration date of November 11, 2017. I've never had to deal with issues of freshness for my Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps.

Cleanup for the Snack Factory Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps is fairly simple. Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps are a dry food and thus leave a little bit in the way of crumbs behind. As well, if the chocolate melts, they will stain; consult your fabric guide for how to get dark chocolate out of anything these melt into!

Overall

Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps are a delightful salty-sweet snack that gets all of its promised flavors just right!
